I Was Reminded as to Why I Coach... Last Night.

Hi Followers (1 so far),
This is just a brief post on my blog.
Last night I was reminded why I coach football.  In the Spring we have Minor Football and I coach the youngest age level.  Two weeks ago we had our first game and got destroyed 40 something to 6.  This week only two weeks later we won 18 to 6.  In two weeks 18 boys, 14 of whom have never played the game before learned so much.  I was so excited.  I think there is a lesson here about never giving up.  I think it is hard for anyone in any sport to lose 40plus to 6.  But to get up and get back in the game and try and never give up, that my friends is the key.  That is why I coach.

IT IS NOT ABOUT FALLING.. IT IS ABOUT FALLING AND NEVER GETTING UP.
WE MUST GET UP!!
Football teaches that and I just wanted to share it.
Until Next Time this is Coach Birl saying.. GIVE ME 20 lol

Coaching Football, I LOVE that!!

I guess this is my first official blog (ging).  I must say, I never thought I would blog.  I was thinking, what would I call my blog, what would I write about and immediately I thought of Coaching and the game of football.
Why do I love coaching football?  I'm glad you asked that question.  I guess the main reason is because football is much like life:  life has ups and downs, win and losses, a few yards forward and few back.  The best way to win at football is: to have a good coach, to play as a team, to know the play book and to practice over and over and over again until you get it!!  Life is very similar.  You need a good coach (or two) people you can look to who have maybe been around the block a little longer than you.  You gotta know the play book.  A great play book for life is the Bible (basic instruction before leaving earth).  There are all kinds of real stories about real people who maybe really stupid choices but learned from it.  Practice makes perfect (they say, whoever they are).  In life there is much practice, much discipline, much hard work to make it.   Finally play as a team.  Life is all about relationships.  We must learn that doing things together out of relationship bring wonderful results.

Well that's it for tonight.  Just a little blog from Coach Birl, more to follow.
If you wanna see the Coach in action - SFDCI tomorrow at 5:30pm.
